Home Care Plus

Home Care Plus is the third level of education developed by Hearts of Joy  for their caregivers to better understand certain diseases which affect their clients, specifically Alzheimer‘s, Arthritis, Parkinson‘s and Diabetes.  In order to participate in this training, Hearts of Joy caregivers must first have completed the Certified Companion Aide (CCA) program.

The information used by co-founders, Marc Katz and Susan Wagoner, to develop the Home Care Plus program comes directly from information provided by each of the disease support groups and industry experts, as well as publications and research articles.  This valuable education program was developed to educate Hearts of Joy caregivers with an understanding of the population affected by the disease, what the disease actually is, the types of the disease (if applicable), common treatments, problems associated with the disease, nutrition, exercise, and additional resources.  In addition to the initial training, caregivers receive monthly updates on each disease to keep them updated on the current changes and trends with each specific disease.

Additional educational training is forthcoming on other diseases.
